Transportation

Transportation & Transit: Real Progress, Clear Priorities
Since joining the Frederick County Council in 2022, I’ve made transportation a top priority because safe, efficient travel affects every resident, every day.
One of our biggest accomplishments is securing state funding and advancing design work to widen U.S. Route 15. This critical project has long been overdue, and thanks to strong advocacy, it is now moving forward with $160+ million in construction funding, design nearing 65%, and construction expected by 2028.
But Route 15 is just one piece of the puzzle.
✅ We’ve kept county road improvements moving forward despite inflation and growth.
✅ We’ve supported public transit expansion, including improved bus routes and service coverage especially for seniors, low-income residents, and job access.
✅ We’ve advocated for more flexible and expanded MARC service, including weekend trains.
✅ And we’ve done it all while maintaining our AAA bond rating, keeping borrowing costs low and investments responsible.
As we continue to grow, I’m committed to:
- Reducing congestion on key corridors and intersections
- Expanding transit options for those who don’t drive
- Attracting more local employers so fewer residents need to commute down I-270
- Collaborating with state and federal partners to bring our tax dollars back home
Better transportation means better quality of life and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. There’s more work to do, and I’m ready to keep moving Frederick County forward.
